Memorial Day
To all those soldiers who have laid their lives on the line to protect our freedom...
To those brave men and women who continue to put their lives on the line today...
To those still living who can still see the battlefields they served on...
Today is your day.
Thank you for all that you have done and sacrificed and will continue to do for others, many of whom will never appreciate it.

Nice going, kiddo! I commented on another blog today that a disturbing trend in recent years is that holidays like this one have become generic to many people. All it means to them is a day off from work, a family get together, a cookout and, if they're lucky, a sale at their favorite store at the mall. This isn't a day for the kids to be sitting around playing combat video games. War isn't a game. It's real. It's a matter of life and death and you can't just press the reset button when it's game over. Too many people aren't remembering what this and other holidays are about. We can't afford to forget. We can't afford for future generations not to know.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you saw the piece I put together today and I hope you get how much I admire and respect you, Ashton.
