December Book Club Pick
Beth's father, Max, is at the end of his life, and his only request is that Beth go through an old box of memorabilia from when he served as a medic in World War II. Among the souvenirs is a photograph of Max with a woman, the German wife of a Nazi officer with whom Max risked everything.
