Five Things I Bought from Old Navy for Fall
The start of a new season is a great time to assess your closet. For me, it's an excuse to go through what I already have and clean out things I no longer need and then add fresh new pieces. Old Navy is hands-down the store I shop at the most, so of course that's the first place I looked when doing my fall shopping.
They've got a ton of cute new things for the season, but I was on a mission for some casual blouses that work with jeans just as well as skirts, a new pair of distressed boyfriend jeans (since my favorite pair are starting to wear out), and one new dress.
I was mostly looking for transitional pieces, which work really well for our climate. Our winters don't usually get very cold, so these transitional pieces really carry me from fall to spring.
Anyway, I did a quick try-on session with the stuff I ordered (minus a couple graphic tees that I got on sale - you'll see those in my next real outfit roundup, though), so let's dive in!
We'll start with this tie-neck eyelet puff-sleeve blouse.
I ordered this in a medium, even though my recommended size is a small. As you can see in the pictures, it's not form-fitting which is what I wanted (it definitely would have been in the small). It is very much see-through and the fabric is not very thick, so you'll either want to wear a nude-colored bra or an undershirt. I'm not sure which direction I'll go with that, to be honest.
Up next, my favorite shirt out of this order: the puff-sleeve floral-print smocked peplum blouse.
This shirt, y'all, is so pretty in person. I love the way it fits. It's such a romantic silhouette. I got the medium in this, as well, but I would say that if you're between sizes to consider going up one. I'm wearing the rust color, but it also comes in a pretty black.
I'm going to pause here to talk about these mid-rise boyfriend straight ripped jeans. I got them because my favorite pair are seriously starting to wear out. I've worn them so much, the distressing has turned to outright holes and tears that are only getting bigger.
Anyway, this pair is a little bit tighter than the pair I've been wearing. They're not too small by any means. In fact, they fit perfectly. I'm wearing size 6.
Up next, this gorgeous oversized button-front poet blouse.
I could have sized down in this, as well, but I don't feel like this is too over-the-top baggy. The print is so pretty and I love the extra detail on the top. I'm not sure why I tied it, though. I'll honestly never wear it like that.
In addition to this pretty light blue, it also comes in a navy blue.
And last but certainly not least we have this tiered floral swing dress in a perfect-for-fall burgundy.
If this dress looks familiar, it's because I own the exact same dress in a springy pink, too. It also comes in a pretty yellow and purple print, as well.
This dress is so easy to wear and even easier to layer. It'll work with sandals, sneakers, flats, or wedges.
