A Mid-February Real Outfit Roundup
It's time for another Real Outfit Roundup, in which I share outfits from the last two weeks that I wore in real life, along with links to shop the same or similar items.
It's been kind of a hectic two weeks in my world, with several 'events' thrown in the mix, so this particular roundup feels a little all over the place style-wise. February tends to be a colder month here, and my winter style leans more toward comfy casual, but I've been working in some brighter colors where I can. Let's get started!
Sizing info: I'm 5'2" and weigh about 150 lbs. I usually wear size 6 or S/M in clothing and size 7 in shoes.
This was two Saturdays ago, and I honestly have no idea what we did. We had a kid-free weekend, and I feel like we might have walked through a few stores, but other than that I'm drawing a blank.
I really do love these gray jeans, though. They were part of my StitchFix box last month and are so stretchy. They're more expensive than I usually spend on jeans, but I'm pretty sure I've already gotten my cost per wear in. This sweater is a couple years old from Amazon. It's advertised as a tunic length but really doesn't fit that way for me. It's also kind of scratchy, in my opinion, so I always layer it over camisole.
This outfit is one of my recent faves. I saw something very similar on Pinterest and had to recreate it. I've had this floral bomber jacket for years. I just haven't worn it much in recent years. It's pretty thin, so not very practical for the type of weather we ended up having this day. I also had not planned on wearing combat boots, but the heel on my favorite tall black boots gave out after more than 10 years of wear, and I had to improvise.
Y'all, this sweatshirt is so good. I wore it on my last day of magazine distribution, followed by lunch with a friend and former coworker. I layered it over plain black leggings for comfort and gave it a little edge and personality with my buckle moto boots.
I wanted to share a picture of what I wore to a friend's surprise party last Friday, but I didn't take any photos and the only photo where you can see my entire outfit is a group photo that does the look no justice.
Moving on to Valentine's Day. I was asked to judge a decorating contest at one of our local pediatric offices, so I decided to go all out to look the part. I am in love with this 50s style dress. I love the piping and the lace neckline. I am going to have to strengthen up the buttons on the waist so they'll hold up, but otherwise this dress is fantastic. It's sleeveless, so I paired it with my red cardigan, which is a couple inches too long for this particular dress, some patterned tights, and my combat boots because they're more comfortable than heelssss.
Oh man, this day sucked. It started with a trip to my dermatologist to find a solution to an allergic reaction, which thankfully happened and my skin is on its way to clearing up. Then I got rear-ended at a red light and had to deal with a truly awful human being who didn't want me to report the accident that left my car with a damaged bumper that will have to be completely replaced.
Anyway, I dressed for comfort this day because of the doctor appointment. This long-sleeve tunic-length tee is one of the most comfortable pieces of clothing I own.
And last but not least, we had some early Spring temperatures so I wanted to dress to match. Plus, I just got this maxi dress not too long ago and haven't had a reason to wear it. It's really thin so definitely not a cold weather dress, but a denim jacket made it appropriate for our mid-70s temps. Even thinking about sandals felt weird, though, so I decided on flats instead. Quick note: I tend to size up with Amazon so I got this dress in a medium, but I most definitely would have been able to wear a small no problem.
