Whew, what a week, y'all! I haven't been so glad to see a weekend come in a long time. Last week wasn't bad, but it was really busy. I felt like I was running pretty much the entire time, and I had to work around multiple showings of our house.
Surprisingly, but maybe not considering the current market, we've already gotten offers and are moving into the next step of the process. Can I tell you how not excited I am about packing? I don't even know when that day will be here exactly, but I'm already dreading it.
The weekend was nice and relaxed. We ate lunch with my parents one day and hung out for a few hours, then mostly took it easy on Sunday.
This week should be relatively easy. I'll have distribution at some point, and I'm finishing up the magazine website for the May issue today. Later this week I'm attending an adult prom fundraiser for our local art museum. It's the annual members-only event, and I've never gotten to attend before because of work and then Covid canceled it the last two years, so I'm really excited.
I become an aunt this week, too, which is exciting. I can't wait to meet that little bundle.
That'll do it for me this morning. I hope you all have a wonderful week!
Hi, Ashton!
ReplyDeleteThanks for patiently waiting for me to pay you a return visit, dear friend. This is the first I am learning that you guys are selling your house and moving. I was around Alexis's age when my family moved from a rural PA community to the suburbs of a medium sized city. It will be an adventure for her and the rest of you. Yessum, in recent years, Mrs. Shady and I have moved several times, and the packing and unpacking are quite a chore. However, it is fun to furnish and decorate your new space. That's something to keep in mind in the midst of the drudgery.
Congratulations on becoming an aunt this week! It's nice to know that Alexis will soon have a new playmate.
Thank you again for your friendship and support spanning more than a dozen years. dear Ashton. Have a safe, happy and more restful week!
Oh wow! Has it really been that long? I think you might be the only person from my original group of followers/following that is still on the "scene!" That's wild. Have a good week, Tom!
DeleteI decided to do some fact checking, because I was curious to find out exactly when we started following each other. In the summer of 2010, as you might recall, we were both following the blog of an English girl named Emily C. Through our comments on Emily's posts, you and I became familiar with each other and learned that we worked in the same field as TV news producers. The earliest comment that I could find from you on my blog was published Nov. 19, 2010. So, a few months from now, it will be 12 years since you and I officially became friends. That's longer than any other friend who has a blog that I follow. It is indeed very impressive, Ashton, and I am grateful.
DeleteI wish I could heart react to this comment! You have definitely been a good friend, Tom. I'm so glad we were able to connect!
