Spring Break is pretty much the unofficial start of swimsuit season, and since I'm on Spring Break this week, it felt like a good time to share some of my favorite swimsuit finds with you.
I don't buy a new swimsuit every year or really even every other year. In fact, I've been wearing the same four swimsuits since 2022 (you can see four all here -- the ones I wear the most are the floral one piece and the two piece striped top with orange bottoms) plus the green bikini seen in this post, which I got on major sale in 2023 (it's still available in all sizes and totally worth the full price).
This year, I find myself ready to update my swimwear, and I've been on the hunt for modest yet fun suits that make me feel good about my body. Our local stores have been disappointing. I was really counting on Target since I've seen so many people sharing cute suits from there, but our Target has let me down in that department. Old Navy, too, has not been helpful. So to Amazon we go!
Amazon has a ton of good options out there...and a ton of not-so-good ones. Sifting through them all can be pretty overwhelming, especially when you don't really know what you're looking for. Some of the biggest trends this year include cut-outs and one-shoulder styles as well as floral and/or tropical prints and bright colors. All things I can get behind.
These days as I get nearer to 40, I find myself less and less interested in showing off a lot of skin in a bikini. That's not to say that I'm suddenly one-piece or nothing, just that as I'm getting older I want more modest styles but ones that still feel fun and true to my personality. So that's what this post consists of -- modest one and two-piece swimsuits that still have lots of personality.
Top Row - What I Ordered
Green Color Block Bikini - I love the two different shades of green here. The top has criss-crossed straps and a tie back. The straps are adjustable. The bottoms have drawstring sides so you can adjust how much coverage you have there, which I personally love since this is the area I struggle with the most in bottoms. This suit comes in 28 colors/patterns and has an overall 5-star rating.
Floral One Piece - This suit was my husband's pick, and he honestly knocked it out of the park. I have owned a few Cupshe brand swimsuits before, and they're always good quality. This one fits like a dream, and I absolutely love the back. It comes in 8 colors/patterns and has an overall 5-star rating.
Black Floral Two-Piece - This is not a brand I've ordered before, but I just couldn't stop looking at it. The bottoms are a bit cheeky but not to the point that I feel like I'm exposed. It's hard to tell in the pictures, but the top has a really wide band around the bottom. It also has adjustable straps. It comes in 27 colors/patterns and has an overall 5-star rating.
Middle Row - Close Seconds
One Shoulder Color Block - You have no idea how close I came to ordering this one. I mean, how fun is this pattern?! I've never had a one-shoulder swimsuit before, though, so I was concerned about coverage. This comes in 33 colors/patterns.
Bright Blue Sporty Bikini- I really enjoy the bright colors of this one, and just look at that back! Those straps would make such an interesting tan line...you know, if I actually tanned. It comes in eight colors.
Black/Floral Tie Top Cutout One-Piece & Black Striped Cut-Out One Piece - I really like the classic look of these two. They are different brands, but the style is very similar. The floral print one comes in 29 colors/patterns, while the striped comes in 21.
Bottom Row
Reversible One-Piece - This cute retro-inspired one-piece comes in 8 patterns. While I think the tie-straps are adorable, I don't think they're practical, and they all had just a little too much white in them to make good suits for the lake, which is the primary place I spend my summer.
Two-Piece Peplum - Another super cute one, but I just couldn't convince myself on the peplum for the long haul. It comes in 20 colors/patterns.
Orange Floral Two Piece - I liked every single pattern offered in this suit, but I ultimately decided that the bottoms were too high cut for me to comfortably wear it. However, it was just too pretty not to share!
