What to Wear for Valentine's Day

by - January 22, 2025

We are less than a month out from Valentine's Day! Do you and your significant other celebrate? We really don't, but I can't deny that I love all the pink and red fashion choices that hit the stores this time of year, even if I don't really deck myself out in hearts.

Valentine's Day is on a Friday this year, which is kind of exciting (especially if you're a teacher). I've been trolling my favorite sites for inspiration for what to wear that week -- yes, I said week. I'm a teacher, and I love a theme! Here are some of my top picks.

Pink Peter Pan Collar Blouse - I actually got this for myself just because I love this style. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality. You can't tell from the pictures, but it's got this really pretty gold thread woven throughout the blouse which just adds another layer of fun to the whole top.

Heart Graphic Tee - Old Navy is certainly the place to find heart-themed graphic tees this year. They've got so many different patterns to choose from! I, personally, like this smaller print heart tee. If you look closely, you'll see that some of the hearts have Cupid arrows in them, which I think makes it even more fun.

Lace Blouse - This is another blouse I got for myself. Some features about it that I love, aside from the lace, are the pearl snap buttons and the ruffled sleeve cuffs. It's important to note that the blouse itself is very much sheer - it is lace, after all - so you'll have to wear a camisole underneath.

Reading Hearts Sweatshirt - I don't own this one yet, but it's destined to be mine.

Swiss Dot Ruffle Blouse - Y'all know I can't resist a swiss dot, and this blouse just has so much to love about it. It comes in quite a few color options, too.

Heart Cardigan - There are so many of these to choose from! I especially like this one from Old Navy. It's one of their so-soft sweaters, which I love because they absolutely live up to their name. I also like this non-button, longer open-style one from Amazon.

Rose Dress - How gorgeous is this slip dress? I mean, I have nowhere to wear it, so I can't justify buying it for myself, but I absolutely love it, and it would be perfect for a fancy date night. Someone please buy it so I can live vicariously through you!

Pink & Red Dress - Now this one, on the other hand, I could totally justify buying. It's definitely more casual (and teacher approved, just sayin'), so I would get more wear out of it. I love the red bric-a-brack against the pink. There's also a red and white version.

Red Lips Slip Skirt - Um, how cute is this skirt? Wearing a skirt with lips on it as a middle school teacher is not a great idea because hormones, but how perfect is this for Valentine's Day?

Headband - I feel like there's an elementary school teacher out there who needs this headband. Bonus - it comes with matching earrings!

Socks - Old Navy never lets me down when it comes to holiday-themed socks. The quarter crew socks are always my favorites (you can get them in a three pack or a six pack ) but they also have really cute ankle socks, too.

Red Mary Janes - Mary Janes are having a moment this year, so you should definitely use Valentine's as an excuse to get a red pair. I have these in black and will warn you that they take a day or two to break in. Just get you some Valentine's socks and wear them around the house and that ought to do the trick!
