Updating My Closet for Warmer Weather

It's my favorite time of year -- Spring is finally here!

Spring is my favorite season for fashion. The weather is as close to perfect as it can get, at least for a month or so. Where I live, summer always shows up early and with a vengeance. So that means for the few weeks we get to experience it, I go all out with spring layers.

Back in February when we had our first little taste of Spring weather, I added a few things to my closet (see them all here). Now with Spring actually being here for real and the promise of summer-like temps on the horizon, I'm working on updating my closet once again.

Here's a look at some of the things I've recently added to my closet from Old Navy, Target, and Amazon. Most items were bought on sale between February and April. As a reminder, I typically wear size 6 or s/m in clothes and size 7 in shoes.

Tops that I can wear a variety of ways both for work and play are still a priority as I refashion my closet for this stage of my life, but as you can see, I've added a little bit of everything to my closet over the last couple of months.

Vest tops are having a big moment, and I couldn't resist adding these two to my wardrobe. However, I rarely - if ever - wear a vest on its own. I prefer to use them as a third layer, especially this time of year when it's warm enough to wear sleeveless but I still want my shoulders covered. Pastels and shades of pink are also having a moment, which I'm loving.

My love of floral print is still alive and well, which fits right in with one of this year's biggest trends. It's giving me a good avenue for updating my dress collection which has started to feel a bit dated, but I'm also adding it by way of blouses and even shoes.

Sticking with the subject of tops, I've found some that feel like basics but are anything but. I've got this eyelet top in multiple colors, and the green lace-sleeve top is so nice in person. They feel like you're wearing a really nice t-shirt, but they look so much more put together.

I haven't added much by way of bottoms; I'm still pretty good in that department and could probably stand to get rid of some stuff if we're being honest. However, that white skirt from Target that you've probably been seeing all over your feeds? Yeah, I have it. But I bought it before it went viral. And yes, it is that good. So are these red striped linen pants. They're extremely flattering and very comfortable.
